DIY MINI TERRARIUM

implementation, product design

In 2012 I discovered “Mosser“, the beautiful small glass terrarium of designers Jennica Johnstone and Noah Atkinson. “Mosser is about capturing simplicity and and keeping it alive in ones space. We recognize the need to have something natural at your fingers tips in this day and age”. Fascinated by their philosophy I wanted to buy a copy. Unfortunately I had to realize that “Mosser” could not be shipped to Europe. Probably the export and transfer of a life form like moss is so complex that it is not worthwhile. I considered briefly to ask an appropriate commercial service in the US to buy and sent me a copy. But this had been complicated and too expensive. Instead I decided this year to build my own mini terrarium and yesterday the main parts had arrived. My version is 20 cm high, have a diameter of 10 cm and that it become worth all the effort I directly produced three pieces of it.
